Illumination Research helps our clients light that path. Our years of experience on the client side and the research side give us a unique ability to understand our clients′ needs and how best to meet them. Whether you need help with just one part of the research excursion or guidance on the whole thing, Illumination can help.

Illumination Research is a full service qualitative research consultancy whose focus is shedding light on topics that are essential to our clients′ success. Our research consultants have extensive experience working on the client side, allowing us to anticipate the questions you will want answered.

Research is our business and we understand how important the quality of our work is to building yours; each project truly is treated as if it were our own. You′re ready to find out what the next big thing is; we′re ready to help you get there. Let Illumination Research help light your path to discovery.
  • Getting there is much easier with the right directions in hand.

Every part of a journey is important, but ensuring that the compass is pointed in the right direction at the start is vital. We take the necessary steps at the start of every project to ensure we have a clear understanding of the research objectives. We then develop a learning plan that guides you toward solving your business issues. We help clients establish the best plan for whom to talk to and how best to talk to them, making the answers come much easier.

The type of information you′re after dictates what research method will be most effective. Illumination conducts research via a number of qualitative methodologies, including:

    • in–depth one–on–one interviews
    • focus groups
    • ethnography
    • structured ideation sessions

We will help determine what methodology will serve to best get to the root of your questions and provide you with rich, useful data that benefits your business.
“I have passed your information on to my co-workers with glowing recommendations. Things went great and we are moving forward to a test market with one of the concepts–It was great working with you–So easy!! I love that.”

    – Chiquita Brands Market Research Manager

    – P&G Health Care Research Manager

“Your leadership over the last few days really made a big impact on our project. Thanks so much for all of your hard work and your clear thinking. This is a difficult project for a moderator, but somehow you made it look like it was easy. Thank you”

    – The Tradewind Group Principal
  • We know the importance of details, so we make the little things a priority.

Have you ever noticed how much more enjoyable a vacation is when you spend time planning all the particulars beforehand? Research, while perhaps not as relaxing as a vacation, is similar in that it always produces better results when detailed planning takes place upfront. At Illumination Research, we know the key to great research is in the details, so we strive for flawless execution. From finding the best facility to writing screeners to recruiting the right respondents, we ensure that every detail is taken care of so you don't have to.

A project can be well planned and if it misses even one important detail it can all be for nothing. Let′s take a famous example: the Chevy Nova. It was a fine car, but they failed to test the name prior to launch and this proved disastrous in Spanish–speaking nations. And that's why we take planning so seriously.
“Just wanted to say thank you for an outstanding job managing the details for the ideation/brainstorm; the sugar free redbull was appreciated–as well as the music. The location was perfect. Thanks for always doing the lil' extras. They don′t go unnoticed!”

    – P&G Tremor Research Manager

“The recruit on this project was excellent! Everything went perfect the day of, and I couldn't be more pleased with how the research went. Thanks for everything.”

    – P&G Health Care Market Research Manager
  • Our Moderators′ experience on both sides of the mirror may leave you believing in mind readers.

We are proud of our years of experience on the client side and in the research field. It′s what gives us our edge. Collectively, we have over 150 years of client side experience and we′ve moderated more than 6,000 focus groups and in–depth–interviews. We′d say we′re pretty experienced.
“We were very, very pleased with the research. The moderator did a fantastic job, and we will definitely work with Illumination again.”
